![]() Sword Alloy, with a prototype of the wheel technique I used in Purified Gold, and all the chaos of a Looney Tunes factory in spinning and moving parts. (Also pretty good on cycles, I think?)Īnd a few other random terrible ones, linked to spare people's browsers: Thanks for the advice on TIS and Shenzhen! I'll probably give one of them a try and see how well I manage words and numbers instead of moving thingies.Īlso I just finished Purified Gold, so I'll join in on the solution fun: Honestly, half the fun in this game is making up solutions that are inefficient as gently caress but just aesthetically really pretty. I see I'm not the only one who didn't realise until later that metals can be transmuted without completely unbonding them first. This might be my favourite Zachtronics game yet. You guys love seeing terrible solutions, right? I was happily watching this execute when I finally realized that it doesn't have to be anywhere near this complicated. Good luck to you, I know you believe in hell Not the fastest, but it looks pretty and came pretty darn close to the cost floor. Well, I'm not gonna show off my Pure Gold since it looks like rear end compared to everyone else's.but I think I did fairly well on Alchemical Gem: The more the merrier worse I can feel about my solutions!Ĭapitol: A building or complex of buildings in which any legislature meets.Ĭapital: A city designated as a legislative seat by the government or some other authority, often the city in which the government is located otherwise the most important city within a country or a subdivision of it. for my Steam profile and I'm going to go through and add everybody in the OP. This is the first Zachtronics game I've beaten the main story of, but that's because normally I go crazy optimizing as I go and just burn out but this time I actually forced myself to move on. Tenebrais fucked around with this message at 21:35 on Oct 22, 2017 Most of the Purified Gold solutions I've seen look like dicks. Not particularly optimized, but I love it's aesthetic. Since everyone else is showing off Purified Gold, here's mine. Typing a few simple commands is so much quicker than dragging around little squares that mean the same thing. GET LOSE, YOU CAN'T COMPARE WITH MY POWERS It gives you a nice and constrained context in which to experiment and gamifies it in a way that's really fun once you get it rolling. Basically, if you ever thought that you might find programming fun, do give it a try. I can't really speak to how approachable it is because I actually learned how to do that kind of stuff for real before trying it ingame, but it does seem to have the usual Zachtronics degree of polish and tutorialising. It's much more abstract than SpaceChem, Infinityfactory, or Opus Magnum, but still has the same very satisfying feeling when everything finally comes together. Shenzhen is pretty much literally programming microprocessors, using a lot of the same language and syntax as you might in real life. Every GIF in this thread needs to be scored with Powerhouse.Īre TIS-100 and Shenzhen I/O as impenetrable as they look? I like the way Zachtronics games work, but the assembly code aspect is kind of scaring me off. The theme is neat (I really like the imagery and symbols of alchemy), and even the most ridiculous machines are very satisfying to see in action. It's different enough from Spacechem that it's entirely its own set of challenges, while still using all of that same spatial reasoning skillset.
